Georgine Buss, 92, of Paullina, Iowa passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Cherokee Specialty Care Center in Cherokee, Iowa.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the Carlsen Funeral Home of Le Mars with Reverend John Battern of Le Mars United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars.

Visitation with the family present will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at the Carlsen Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until service time.

Georgine Sabina Osborne was born November 23, 1923 on the family farm near Le Mars, Iowa to George and Agnes (Pech) Osborne. She was baptized and confirmed at the Seney Methodist Church. She attended country school near her home and later graduated from Le Mars Central High School. She worked for Aalf’s Manufacturing in Le Mars following high school. On February 14, 1947, Georgine was united in marriage to Lloyd Buss at the Seney Methodist Church. The couple farmed near Craig, Iowa, until 1951 when they moved to a farm south of Paullina, Iowa. In 1960, the family moved to California and they returned to the farm near Paullina in 1965 to farm until retirement. Georgine and Lloyd were blessed with three children: Denise, Bill, and Kathy.

During retirement, the couple spent many winters in Texas. She enjoyed time with family, traveling, reading, puzzles, gardening and life in the country.

Survivors include her children: Denise Coombs and her husband Tom of Linn Creek, MO, Bill Buss and his fiancé Deb Jorgensen of Paullina, IA, and Kathy Glouser of Cherokee, IA; 4 grandchildren: Chris (Becky) Coombs of Warrensburg, MO, Stacie (Sam) Smith of North Liberty, IA, Jeremy Glouser of Ankeny, IA, and Billy Glouser of Cherokee, IA; and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Lois Mars of Primghar, IA; a sister-in-law, Betty Osborne of Montevideo, MN; a brother-in-law, Ralph (Joyce) Buss of Fairfield, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Agnes (Pech) Osborne; her husband Lloyd on October 21, 2011; a son-in-law, Mike Glouser; her sister, Dolly and Ernie Reeves; and in-laws: Minderd Mars, Frank and Faye Buss, and Harold and LaVonne Buss.
