Elmer G. Wetrosky
Elmer G. Wetrosky, 91, Alcester, S.D., died Tuesday (Dec. 20, 1988) in Morningside Manor at Alcester. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday in Emmanuel Lutheran church at Beresford. Revs. Richard and Thomas Oilman officiated. Burial was in Emmanuel Lutheran cemetery, under direction of the Wass funeral home of Alcester.
Mr. Wetrosky was born July 26,1897, in Plymouth county, near Merrill and attended area rural schools. He married Ruth M. Eberhard Feb. 18, 1919 in Plymouth county. The couple farmed in Plymouth county until 1935 when they moved to the Alcester area and continued to farm. They retired and moved to Beresford in 1962 and in November 1974 moved to Morningside Manor at Alcester. Mrs. Wetrosky died Feb. 23, 1982. Mr. Wetrosky was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran church at Beresford.
Survivors are four sons, Clinton of Beresford, Dwight of Alcester, Donald of Temple City, Calif., and Lowell of Brandon; three daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Verda) Akland and Mrs. Jack (Norma) Stene, both of Beresford; and Irene Waddell of Alcester; 25 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Wetrosky of Cherokee; and two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Ella) Utesch of LeMars and Evelyn Taylor of Sioux City
