Frank W. Wetrosky
Frank W. Wetrosky, 80, of Cherokee, died Saturday (Dec. 9, 1989) at Sioux Valley Memorial hospital in Cherokee following a long illness. Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran church in Cherokee. Rev. Jeffrey Krueger officiated. Burial was in Oak Hill
cemetery in Cherokee, under' direction of the Boothby funeral home of Cherokee.Mr. Wetrosky was born Feb. 15, 1909, at Merrill to Frank and Bertha (Schultz) Wetrosky. He married Marguerite Wadsley June 20, 1931, at Merrill. He served in the U.S. army during World War II. He had lived in Cherokee the past 55 years. He managed Lane-Moore Lumber Co. in Cherokee for 38years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church, L. A. Wescott post 2252 of the VFW, and American Legion, and was a former member of the Kiwanis and Cherokee Jaycees. He also served on the city council in Cherokee for eight years.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter., Mrs. Joy Wieland of Cherokee;-one granddaughter, three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Evelyn Taylor of Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister and a son-in-law, Keith Wieland in 1988.
