August Riediger

August Riediger, 89, LeMars, a Plymouth county native, died Wednesday (Feb. 7, 1979) at his home in LeMars.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran church near Hinton. Rev. Arthur Schultz will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of the Luken-Johnson funeral home in LeMars. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Riediger was born Feb. 28, 1889, in Hungerford township, Plymouth county, to Heinrich and Louise Jackman Riediger. His marriage to Bertha Muecke took place Feb. 23,1916, at Trinity Lutheran church. Hinton. He was a cattle feeder and farmer near Hinton until retiring and moving to LeMars in 1964.

Survivors are his wife, Bertha, LeMars; two sons. Earl and Dale, both of Hinton; a sister. Mrs. Adali (Hattie) Bogenrief, Hinton; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son. Ralph Riediger; four brothers and two sisters.
