Julius Muecke, Farmer, Died Friday Night

Prominent Feeder Succumbs After Long Illness—Lived In County Sixty-Six Years
Extensive Land Owner
Came To Plymouth With Parents As Small Boy

Julius Muecke, well known Plymouth county farmer and feeder, died at his home in Lincoln township at 7 o'clock Friday evening, April 10. Mr. Muecke has been afflicted with a serious illness for about two years and h is condition was alarming about a year ago, but he rallied and for a time seemed much improved. Two weeks ago he grew worse and failed rapidly until death came as a release from suffering.

Born In Germany

Julius Muecke was born September 15, 1861, in Sclousen, Schleswig , Germany, the son of Frederick Muecke and wife, Christine. When Julius Muecke was 9 years of age he came with his parents , brothers and sisters to the United States and the family located on a farm in Hungerford township, Plymouth county. The old Muecke homestead in Hungerford was Julius Muecke's home for twenty years and for the last forty-five years he has resided in Lincoln township.

On May 10, 1887, Mr. Muecke was united in marriage to Marie Ideker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Henry Ideker, also pioneer residents in that community. This union was blessed with, four sons and two daughters, one of the sons, Edmund, dying in infancy. The surviving children, all of whom live in that community, are Fremont, Martin, Mrs. Bertha Riediger, Harvey and Mrs. Caroline Howe, Mr. Muecke is survived by his wife, three sons, two daughters, three daughters-in-law and two sons-in-law. One sister, Mrs. Pauline Jauer, of LeMars, also survives, four brothers having preceded him in death. Their wives who survive are Mrs. Wm. Muecke, Mrs. H H. Muecke, Mrs. August Muecke, LeMars, and Mrs. Herman Muecke of Lahoma, Oklahoma .

Was Progressive Farmer

Mr. Muecke was widely known throughout this territory as a progressive farmer and successful cattle feeder. He was energetic and industrious and enjoyed the respect and esteem of a large circle of friends and acquaintances. He has for many years been known as one of Plymouth county's leading farmers and feeders.

Funeral service was held at Trinity Lutheran church in Lincoln township, on.Monday, April 13, at 2 p. m., Rev. R. J. Torgler officiating, and interment made in the Lutheran cemetery in Lincoln
