Early Settler Taken By Death
Mrs. Julius Muecke Here Sixty Years
Mrs. Julius Muecke, 75, long time resident of Lincoln township, died Tuesday at Mapleton following an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Julius Muecke, well known stock raider and farmer in Plymouth county during his life.
Mary Ideker was born in Germany, February l8, 1867, and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ideker, early settlers in Lincoln township. She was a year old when her parents left Germany to seek a home in America. They lived in Clayton, Iowa, before coming to LeMars when she was fourteen years old.
She was married to Julius Muecke May 10, 1887, and they lived on a farm in Lincoln township until she went to Mapleton three years ago.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters, Fremont, Martin and Harvey Muecke, Mrs. August Riediger and Mrs. Henry Howe, all living in Hinton vicinity. She leaves three brothers, Herman and Fremont Ideker of Hinton and Henry Ideker of Long Beach, Cal.
The funeral will be held from the Mauer funeral home at 1:30 Friday afternoon and services will be held in Trinity Lutheran church, Lincoln township, at 2:30 with Rev. H. A. Stahmer, pastor, in charge.
Interment will be made in the Lincoln township cemetery.
