Funeral Wednesday for Chas. Barthole

Charles Barthole, 84, of Remsen died Monday, March 6, 1989, at his home here after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 8 at St. Mary's Catholic Church here, Rev. Dennis Sefcik officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery under direction of the Fisch Funeral Home.

Mr. Barthole was born August 11, 1904, at Remsen to James Peter and Mary Ann (Kirsch) Barthole. He was raised and educated in Remsen. He was a salesman for Dr. MacDonald Vitamized Feed Co. for 35 years and was a director of the company for 15 years. He retired in 1970.

His marriage to Molly Rann took place April 16, 1940, at Remsen. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Remsen and the Eagles, Le Mars.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Daniel (Charlene) Ruhland of Remsen; (two grandchildren; three brothers, Nick of Kingsley, Ray of Spolane, Wash. and Jack of Remsen; and three sisters, Mrs. Jim (Margaret) Holton of Le Mars, Mrs. Al (Liz) Frerichs of Wabasso, Minn., and Mrs. Milton (Marie) Nussbaum of Remsen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, in 1975; and an infant daughter in 1943.
