DEATH FOLLOWS CAR ACCIDENT

Henry G. Andresen, a well known farmer residing east of town, died at 6:30 o'clock Monday evening, April 12, 1926, at the Community hospital in Le Mars from injuries received in an auto accident late Saturday afternoon.

Accompanied by John Siebels, whom he was taking back to Le Mars after doing some painting at his home, Mr. Andresen met a car driven by a Mr. Ladwig at a turn in the road about two miles west of Brunsville. It is said the Ladwig car was coming at a good rate of speed and made awide turn at the curve; and Mr. Andresen, thinking a collision possible, pulled his car too far to the left side of the road and it went off the grade and tipped over. Mr. Siebels escaped with only slight bruises, but was rather lame and sore for several days following. Mr. Andresen was apparently badly hurt and was at once taken to the Community hospital, Le Mars, where it was ascertained that no bones were broken, but that he had suffered serious internal injuries, which caused him much pain. Everything possible was done for his relief, but he passed away Monday evening, aged 57 years, 8 months, and 28 days.

Henry George Andresen was born July 15, 1868, at Hemmingstedt, Germany, where he was bapitzed in the Lutheran church. In April 1881, he came with his parents to the United states and they located at Clinton, Iowa. Two years later he came to Union county, S. D., where in 1890 he was united in marriage with Miss Caroling Selck. This union was blessed with three children, two sons, Bernhard and Herman Andresen, and one daughter, Mrs. Anna Siebels, all now residing in this community. This wife and mother passed away September 26, 1896.

On November 28, 1898, Mr. Andresen was united in marriage with Miss Margaret Fredericksen, and to them four children were born. One son, Frank, died as the result of an accident on June 2, 1916. Three sons survive, Carl, Andrew, and Fred Andresen.

Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons and one daughter, all of Akron vicinity; also one brother, Christ. Andresen, of Union county, S. D., and three sisters, Mrs. Henry Boetget, of Union county, S. D., Mrs. Hein, of Sioux Falls, S. D., and Mrs. Schuette, of Canada.

The deceased was a kind and devoted husband and father, a good neighbor and a valued friend. He was an industrious farmer, and the host of friends he had gained in this community where he had lived so many years will unite in extending their sympathy to the family so sadly bereaved.

Funeral services will be held Friday, this week, at 2 p.m., at the family home and at 2:30 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran church in Akron, conducted by Rev. F. A. Meske. Interment will be in Riverside cemetery.
