DEATH COMES TO ANNA VANDERHAM SUNDAY, JUNE 30
Was A Resident Of The Akron Vicinity For Many Years
Mrs. David (Anna) Vanderham, a resident of Akron vicinity for many years, passed away Sunday, June 30, in a Hawarden nursing home, aged nearly 81 years.
Mrs. Vanderham was born July 30, 1881, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, and came to this country and northwest Plymouth county in her youth. Here she was united in marriage with David Vanderham on July 6, 1899, and they farmed in Plymouth and Sioux counties for many years, retiring and moving to Akron in 1945. Her husband preceded her in death in 1955.
Suriviors include three sons, Herman and William, both of Akron, and Fred of Snoqualmie, Wash.; five daughters, Mrs. Marie Place of Sioux City, Mrs. Lena Weyen of Chatsworth, Ia., Mrs. Anna Huchner, of Akron, Mrs. Minnie Haage of Hawarden, Ia., and Mrs. Rose Huebner of Beresford, S. D.; 24 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday fornoon in Immanuel Lutheran church, rev. David J. Roy officiating. There was congregational singing, and Mrs. Stuart Harris was soloist and Mrs. Henning Shoulberg was organist. Casket bearers were John Milbrodt, Jesse Kallsen, John Henrich, Gerd Johnson, Elmer Gerdes and Emil J. Willer. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
