DIED
Mrs. Wm. Mollhoff passed away at her home about ten miles northeast of here, in Preston township, Plymouth county, Iowa, on Friday, October 27, 1922, after an extended illness of chronic articular rheumatism and valvular heart disease. During the past three years she had been hardly able to help herself and death came as a relief to her sufferings, at the age of 51 years and 10 months.
Katherine Mary Johanna Vanderham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Vanderham, was born December 27, 1870, in Jones county, Iowa, where she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. On January 6, 1889 she was united in marriage with William Mollhoff and three sons and three daughters came to bless their union. About twenty-seven years ago they came to Plymouth county and this has since remained the family home, with the exception of about two years that they lived in Kansas.
Mrs. Mollhoff was receded in death by her husband and one son, and is survived by the following children: John, Mary, William, Anna and Katie Mollhoff. Also the following brothers and sisters survive: Theo. and John Vanderham, of Akron, Iowa; Mrs. Anna Degen, of Chatsworth, Iowa; Henry and Charles Vanderham, of Platte, S. D.; David Vanderham, of North Dakota, all these relatives being present at the funeral except David. Her father John Vanderham, also survives. The sympathy of many friends is extended to these relatives in the loss of a kind and devoted mother, daughter, and sister.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. F. A. Meske, of Akron, Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the home and at 2 p.m. at St. Math. Lutheran Church in Chatsworth. Interment was in Riverside cemetery, beside her husband.
Mr. and Mrs. John Brownamiller, of Nunda, S. D., were present at the death and funeral of her mother.
