DAVE H. VANDERHAM CALLED BY DEATH LAST SATURDAY
Rites Held Tuesday For Long-Time Resident Of Plymouth County
One of northwest Plymouth county's early-day farmers, David H. Vanderham, passed away at his home in this city Saturday evening, April 9, 1955, after an extended illness, aged 86 years, 1 month and 4 days.
David Herman Vanderham was born March 5, 1869, in Jones county, Iowa, and came to Plymouth county when a young man. Here he married Miss Anna Stallbaum on July 6, 1899, and six daughters and three sons came to bless their union. He farmed in Plymouth and Sioux counties until ten years ago, when he retired and moved to town.
Survivors are his wife, six daughters, Mrs. Fred J. Place, of Snohomish, Wash.; Mrs. Herman Weyen, Chatsworth; Mrs. August Huebner, Akron; Mrs. Leo Kaelke and Mrs. Elmer Haage, both of Hawarden, Ia. and Mrs. Ralph Huebner, of Beresford, S. D.; three sons, Fred of Everett Wash. and Herman and William, both of Akron a sister, Mrs. Anna Degen, of Akron; a brother, Henry, of Hawarden; 23 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in Immanuel Lutheran church, Pastor David J. Roy officiating. Mrs. Milton Anderson sang and Mrs. Henning Shoulberg was organist. Pallbearers were John Milbrodt, Frank Neuanber, Jesse Kallsen, Gerd Johnson, John Moeller and Henry Plueger. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
