Early Resident Taken By Death

Theodore Vanderham of Akron Passes Away

Theodore D. Vanderham, 78, early Plymouth county settler, died Thursday, July 1, in the Akron hospital. He had been in failing health for several months. Mr. Vanderham was born in Germany, September 5, 1864, and came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Vanderham to America when a child. He spent the early years of his life near Monticello, Jones county, Iowa, and came to Plymouth county fifty-seven years ago. He was married to Margaret Schieuter, while living here. She preceded him in death.

He leaves two sons and two daughters, H. J. Vanderham of Akron, Minnie Vanderham of Sioux City, Martin Vanderham of Akron, and Mrs. Ollie McGraw of Le Mars, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three brothers and a sister.

He was preceded in death by his wife and five children.

Funeral services were held Monday at Trinity Lutheran church, in Akron, Rev. J. A. Pannkuk, pastor, officiating, and interment made in Grant township cemetery un the direction of the Wiltgen funeral home of Le Mars.

Mr. Vanderham was a good citizen and successful farmer and was highly respected in the community.
