RIFLE BLAST AT RUBLE SNUFFS OUT MAN'S LIFE
Accident Occurs While Victim Was Getting In Car
Sylvester Vanderham, 23, a Soo City packing plant employee, was killed when a rifle accidentlly discharged as he got into his car on the Henry Vanderham farm near Ruble. The young man and his father and three-year old son, were preparing to go to Ruble when the accident happened.
The victim was rushed to the Akron hospital where he succumbed from the bullet wound.
Sylvester Vanderham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vanderham living near Ruble, was born at Tea, S. D., Sept. 8, 1918. He was married in 1938 to Madeline Burnight. His wife and one son; his parents; one sister, Delores; and two grandparents, Henry Popken, and Theodore Vanderham survive.
One brother preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at St. Patrick's church at Akron, Wednesday, August 12, at 9:30 a.m., Rev. Fr. C. Ernst officiating. Burial will be made in the St. Joseph's cemetery at Akron.
