FORMER RESIDEHT HERE SUMMONED

Charles F. Bliss, Of California, Twin Brother Of Westfield Man

Mr. John Bliss and his daughter, Mrs. A. W. Hummel, of Westfield, attended the funeral of Mr. Bliss; twin brother, Charles F. Bliss, in Santa Monica, Calif., who passed away in a veterans' hospital in Los Angeles, Calif., August 10, 1945.

Memorial services for Mr. Bliss were held August 13, at 1:30 p.m., in the Utter-McKinley Hollywood Chapel, Rev. Bob Shuler, Jr., officiating. There was organ music by the Utter-McKinley artists. Interment was in Woodlawn cemetery, Santa Monica.

Charles Frederick Bliss was a former resident of Akron, Iowa. When a youth he moved to Cleveland, Ohio. In 1898 he enlisted in the U. S. Navy, where he served four years during the spanish-American War. He was honorably discharged and returned to Cleveland and took a position as clerk with the grand Union Tea Company, and later was transferred to Sundusky, Ohio, and also to Lima, Ohio. In Roseline Long, and they moved to Los Angeles, Calif., where he was employed in the Safeway Grocery store for seven years, when his health failed and he had to retire.

He leaves to mourn his death, his widow; three brothers, John and Henry, of Westfield, Iowa, and Robert, of Cleveland, Ohio. They have the sympathy of many friends in their bereavement.
