Della Smith Dies In Hospital
Heart Attack Takes Former ResidentMrs. Everette Smith, formerly Della Bensley, passed away Friday evening, Nov. 17, at a Sioux City hospital.
She suffered a heart attack Sept. 3 and was taken to the hospital where her condition seemed to improve. She was taken home Oct. 29, where she remained 12 days and then returned to the hospital where she passed away.
Mrs. Smith was born in Le Mars Nov. 4, 1911. In 1934 she married Everette P. Smith and lived here until 1939 when they moved to Sioux City. While living here she was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include the widower; a son, Jerry Lee; her mother, Mrs. John Bensley; a brother, Melvin of Struble; three sisters, Mrs. Ferrell Kelly of Salix, Mrs. John Vander Schaaf of Westfield and Mrs. Carl Schomacker of Le Mars; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Anderson Funeral home in Sioux City.
The Rev. Harris Hilscher of the Third Presbyterian church, of which she was a member, will be in the Le Mars City cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her father, one brother, and a sister.
