MOTHER VERY SICK AT SON'S FUNERAL
Mrs. John Bensley In Serious Condition As Result of Worry and the Loss of Sleep
The funeral of Otto E. Bensley was held Thursday afternoon, and the body taken to the city cemetery. Services were held at the First Baptist church, Rev. Potter officiating.
Otto E. Bensley was born August 10, 1903, at Omaha. The family moved to Cherokee, living there a few years, then moved to Cleghorn. At Cleghorn Otto attended the schools and from there the family moved to Le Mars where the boy completed his schooling in the Le Mars public schools.
After leaving school the deceased obtained employment with the Illinois Central Railroad company as crossing watchman, in which occupation he was employed at the time of his death.
About a week ago Thursday he became sick, starting in with a typical case of flu. He quit work right away and stayed at home, but his condition soon changed to pneumonia and he died Wednesday morning.
He is survived by his mother altough she was suffering from a nervous breakdown due to loss of sleep, work and and worry in taking care of her boy, attended the funeral yesterday. Her condition is now serious.
Relatives who came to Le Mars to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Z. Hughs, Council Bluffs; Mrs. Anna Bourne, Crescent, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. George Fenn and family, Moville; Claude Bensley and family of Cherokee; Mrs. Emma Sanger of Cherokee; John Job and family of Cherokee; Mr. and Mrs. Milly Decker of Cherokee; Mr. Mr. and Mrs. Troy Murnett, Aurelia; P. Bensley and family of Iroquois, S. D. The funeral was largely attended by friends and relatives from this vicinity. The Odd Fellows and the Modern Woodmen of American attended in a body. He was also a member of the Yeomen lodge.
