MRS. BERTHA BENSLEY DEAD AT AGE 78--RITES SET WEDNESDAY

Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Ellen Bensley, 78, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mauer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Le Mars memorial Cemetery, with Rev. Dean Orris, Akron, officiating.

Mrs. Bensley was born Dec. 11, 1884, at Creston. She came to Le Mars in 1906, where she lived until November 1962 when she went to live with her children. She had been hospitalized for about a month before her death in Akron. She was the widow of the late John Reily Bensley.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ferrill (Mary) Kelley of Sioux City, and Mrs. John (June) Vander Schaaf of Westfield; a son Melvin Bensley, New Orleans; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Hazel Shipley, Mrs. Anna Boren and Mrs. Frances Phillips, all of Council Bluffs, and Mrs. Mary Hughs, Toledo, Ohio.

Mrs. Bensley was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Everett; three daughters, one in infancy, and Mrs. Della Smith and Mrs. Bonnie Schomacker, three brothers, and two sisters.
