John Mandelkow Found Dead

John Mandelkow, 82, who resided alone at 120 3rd Ave. S.E in LeMars was found dead at his home about 10 a.m. today. Coroner S. H. Luken said death was due to a heart attack. Mr. Mandelkow had visited a doctor yesterday and was planning to go to California to spend the winter. When neighbors noticed he had not been around they called Lawrence Wilde who is a nephew and he discovered Mr. Mandelkow's body.

He was born March 25, 1877 in LeMars and had been a lifetime resident of Plymouth county. His parents were Wilhelmina Detloff and William Mandelkow. He was preceded in death by his wife.

Funeral services are tentatively set for Saturday afternoon at the Luken Funeral home. Luken's are in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Minnie Kruse of LeMars; two grandchildren, Dale Ahlfs of Hawthorne, California, and Mrs. Arnold Zenk of Greeley, Colorado; also two great- grandchildren.
