George Berger, 90,1301 Villa Ave.. Sioux City, died at his home Saturday (Nov. 24, 1973) of a sudden illness.
Mr. Berger was born March 9, 1883. in Liberty township in Plymouth county. He married the former Margaret M. Beaulieu on Aug. 24.1922. in Sioux City. He farmed in Plymouth county until 1949 when the couple moved to Sioux City. He served as president of the Perry township school board and a manager of the Farmer Cooperative telephone company until the dial system came into effect.
He cared for Liberty township cemetery until the time of his death. He was a member of the Methodist faith.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Earl (Ruth) Chaussee of McCook Lake. S.D.; a brother. William of Marcus; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday (Nov. 27) at 1 p.m. at the W. Harry Christy funeral home. 711 Myrtle St.. Sioux City with Rev. Wallace A. Stark of the Whitfield United Methodist church officiating.
Burial will be in Liberty township cemetery. Plymouth county.
Casket bearers will be Franklin and Wilfred Henrich. Norman Klagge. Tom Flannery. Bill Beaulieu and William J. Berger.
