Note: Her maiden name is Nairn and she is buried in Le Mars Memorial Cemetery.

Aged Woman Found Dead In Her Home

Mrs. Janet Bleasdell, Early Settler In Iowa, Succumbs To Heart Attack

Mrs. Janet Bleasdell, 82, resident of Iowa for many years, who has been living in Le Mars for the past five years, was found dead in her home, 408 Seventh Street SW., Sunday morning. Mrs. Bleasdell lived alone since the death of her husband, Thomas Bleasdell, September 6, 1934. She was visited daily by relatives or neighbors. She was apparently in her usual good health when seen by relatives Saturday night. Death was ascribed to heart failure.

Mrs. Bleasdell was born in Marissa, Ill., January 27, 1854.

She and her late husband were early settlers in Cherokee county where they lived for oever forty years before moving to Le Mars to live.

She is survived by two sons, John Bleasdell, of Aurelia; Elmer E. Bleasdell, of Le Mars, and three daughters, Mrs. G. D. Summers, of Kent, WAsh., Mrs. Frank Marsh, Bryan, Ohio, Mrs. Len Stagg, of Whitetail, Mont., four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at the Luken Mortuary chapel at 2 o'clock, Rev. J. R. Tumbleson, pastor of the Methodist Church , officiating.
