Lifelong Westfield Resident Summoned After An Illness
Funeral services for Roy Edward Bliss were held Friday afternoon, December 30, at 2:00 o'clock in the the Westfield Congregrational Church. Rev. Edward Mena officiated. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery at Akron. A family prayer service was held Thursday evening at the schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.
Mr. Bliss died Tuesday afternoon at the Akron Hospital, following a brief illness. He was born on June 26, 1901, at Westfield and was a lifelong farmer and cattle feeder in the area. he married Winifred Kroksh on March 26, 1925, in Sioux City.
Survivors include the widow; two sons, John, of Westfield, and Robert of Tulia, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. arden Boetger, of Akron, and Mrs. Darwin Brink, of Le Mars, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. albert Hummel, of aKron, and Mrs. Ivyl Knapp, of Westfield.
Pallbearers were J. F. McVey, Ollie Banks, art Hasenbank, Wayne Lias, Philip Beaubien, Jr., and Keith Knapp.
