HENRY R. PETERS, 64, RITES SET THURSDAY AT ST. JOHN CHURCH

Funeral services for Henry Reinhard Peters, 64, lifelong Plymouth county resident, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. John American Lutheran church in LeMars. Burial will be in LeMars Memorial cemetery under direction of the Matter funeral home. A prayer service will be held at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Rev. L.L. Belk will officiate.

Mr. Peters died Sunday (March 5, 1967) at the Floyd Valley hospital following an illness of several months.

He was born Aug. 4, 1902, at Westfield, the son of Reinhard and Johanna (Reesen) Peters. He was married Feb. 28, 1928, to Hannah Utesch at Sioux City. The couple farmed in Marion township for eight years before moving to the present farm 22 years ago.

Survivors are his wife of LeMars; a daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Cleane) Varenhorst of rural LeMars; two grandchildren, David and Danny Varenhorst; four brothers, Fred of California, John of Akron, Woodrow of Hawarden and Edwin of Park Side, Chicago, and two sisters, Mrs. John Gerdes and Mrs. Charles Miller, both of LeMars.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard, and a sister, Lucy Wiegers.

Mr. Peters was a member of St. John American Lutheran church in LeMars.
