Cliff Noble Expires at 46
Was County Supervisor
Cliff W Noble, 46, Plymouth county supervisor the last five and a half years died Monday, July 28. at Lutheran hospital, Sioux City.
He had suffered ill health the last 15 months. the three last of which were spent in the hospital.
Mr. Noble resigned from the board of supervisors about six weeks ago because of failing health.
He was active in a number of farm organizations, including the Brotherhood fair at Craig and Plymouth County 4-H and Agricultural Fair society. He was a past president of the Plymouth Coop Oil company of LeMars.
Clifford Wesley Noble was born Feb. 28, 1912 near Struble, the son of Albert P. and Orpha Millard Noble. He was a lifelong Plymouth county resident and had farmed in Preston township near Ireton until his last illness.
He was married Jan. 26, 1932, to Helen Borchers in Plymouth county. She survives as do four sons, Wesley of Ireton, and Stanley, Richard and Gary, all at home, and one granddaughter.
Also surviving are five sisters and four brothers; Mrs. Nellie Norris of Hale. Mo., Mrs. Mable Port of Akron, Mrs. Myrtle Van Steenwyke of Clear Lake, S.D., Mrs. Lela McCabe of Sioux Falls, Mrs. Irene Squires of Minneapolis, Charles of Dolliver. Iowa, and Hollis. George and Dale, all of Hawarden.
He was preceded in death by h is parents and a brother.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John American Lutheran church at Craig. Rev. Donald Schmidt officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Mauer's funeral home.
The court house in LeMars was closed Thursday afternoon during the funeral services.
