Martin Harms Taken By Death
Well Known Farmer In Grant Township
Oelrich Martin Harms, 52, well known farmer and life long resident of Grant township, passed away unexpectedly at his home Tuesday morning (September 22, 1942)) at 7: 30. Death was due to heart trouble to which he was subject.
Martin Harms was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Harms, of Grant township, and was born August 17, 1890. He grew up on the farm and received his education in the rural and parochial schools. He was a life long member of Christ Lutheran church at Mammen.
Mr. Harms was a successful farmer and a skilled carpenter. He was united in marriage with Louise Weyen, February 16, 1916. His death is mourned by his wife, two children, Margaret and Raymond, living at home, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Harms, of Struble, three brothers, Juergen of Struble, John, and Fred who is in the army, and one sister, Mrs. Gerd Miller, living south of LeMars, and many other relatives.
The funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Christ Lutheran church Rev. F. Bunge, the pastor, officiating and interment made in the Grant township cemetery.
The Maurer funeral home of LeMars is in charge of arrangements.
