Died at the family home in Akron, Iowa, Monday, April 20, 1908, Fred Myers, aged sixty-eight years, ten months and nine days, of lung trouble.

Mr. Myers was born in Yorkshire, England June 11, 1839. When a boy of eight he began work in the stone quarries there and for something like forty-five years was employed in the same place. His health finally became affected by the heavy work and the fine dust in the quarries.

In October, 1862, he married Caroline Binns, who has remained his faithful helpmate for more than forty-five years. To them were born six daughters and two sons, of whom the following survive: Mrs. L. Knudson, Miss Mary and James, of this city, and Mrs. Alice Fulton, near Grindstone, S. D. The family came from England to Akron fifteen years ago residing here ever since.
