George E. Myers

George Edgar Myers, 84, Ridgewood Apts., Akron, died unexpectedly Tuesday (May 14, 1991) at his apartment.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron. Pastor Allen Bidne officiated. Burial was in Riverside cemetery at Akron.

Pallbearers were Ray Waterbury, Greg Waterbury, Duane Smith, Robert Myers, Dale Myers, shawn Myers Jay Myers, and Joshua Myers.

Vocalist William Bohlen sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Lord I'm Coming Home," accompanied by pianist, Phyllis Frisk.

Mr. Myers was born May 12, 1907, in Thomas County Colby, Kan., the son of Samuel and Edith (Herman) Myers. He moved to Hawarden, Ia. as a child with his parents and lived in Hawarden, Yankton, S. D. and Akron in the early 1970s and worked for Hartmann Brothers Service Station and Higmann Sand and Gravel Co., retiring in 1978.

He was a member of the Akron Senior Citizen Club.

Suriviors include two sons, Arlyn and his wife, Pauline, of Benkelman, Neb., and Daryl and his wife, Lonny, of Akron; two daughters, Marlene Smith of Greensboro, N. C. and Joanne Waterbury of Akron; a sister, Sadie Stable of Fresno, Calif.; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Hulleman.
