Le Mars, IowaSHOT-GUN DISCHARGE FATAL
Frank Anderson, aged 53, a farmer near Elk Point, and formerly in the banking business at Westfield was instantly killed Saturday by what is believed to have been the accidental discharge of a shotgun. The fatal accident occurred when Mr. Anderson went to the farmyard to do the chores. Shortly afterward his son, Charles, followed him to the yard and entered the milkhouse, where he found the lifeless body of his father. On a shelf near the body was a shotgun, which had been discharged. The position of the gun and the fact that Mr. Anderson wore mittnes on both hands which would have made it imporbable that he could have pulled the gun trigger, were advanced by officers as evidence sustaining the accident theory. The shot pierced Mr. Anderson in the left side.
Mr. Anderson had been a lifelong resident of the community and was held in high esteem by all who knew him. Widespread sympathy is extended to his bereaved family.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, conducted by Rev. Walter I. Aamoth. Interment was in the cemetery near the church.
