ESTEEMED AKRON WOMAN DIES AFTER A BRIEF ILLNESS
Last Rites Are Held Tuesday Afternoon For Mrs. Victor Anderson

Mrs. Victor Anderson passed away at her home in this city Saturday evening, March 29, 1958 following a sudden heart attack, aged 72 years, 1 month and 28 days. She had been in failing health for some time.

Ella Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Johnson, early day residents of Union county, S.D., was born in that county February 1, 1886, and grew to young womanhood there. Her family of brothers and sisters was one of the largest in Union County. On June 20, 1906, she was married to Victor Anderson in the Big Springs Baptist church, and they made their home in Sioux City until 1910, after which time they moved to Akron vicinity and have made their home here ever since. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson observed their golden wedding in Akron, two years ago. Mrs. Anderson took an active part in Baptist church affairs for many years. A devoted wife and mother, and a valued friend and neighbor, she will be sincerely missed by a host of friends.

Surviving are her husband, Victor; three; daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Brown, of Pueblo, Colo.; Mrs. Pearl Cheever, of Waterloo, Iowa, and Mrs. Helen Woodley, of Akron; two sons, Kenneth Anderson, of Minneapolis, Minn.; and Lee Anderson, of Akron; also, four grandchildren. Sisters surviving are: Mrs. Mary Jones. Long Beach, Calif.; Miss Hilda Johnson, Alcester, S.D.; Mrs. Hannah Quarnstrom, Hawarden; Mrs. Emily Johnson, Akron; Mrs. Clara Grabbe, New York City; Mrs. Mae Johnson. Alcester; Mrs. Elinor Johnson, Alcester; and Mrs. Dorothy Hope, Akron. Brothers surviving are: Fred Johnson Dave .Johnson and Robert Johnson, all of Alcester, and Andrew Johnson, of Hawarden.

There was a large attendance at the funeral services held Tuesday afternoon at the First Baptist church, Rev. Robert Schesvold officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Johnson were vocalists and Mrs. Martin Kurka was organist. Pallbearers were Carl Nelson, Joe Powell, Raymon Hebeler, Arvel Lake, Albin Carlson and Clair McCorkell. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
