Mrs. August A. Anderson passed away at her home in Union County, S. D. on Monday, December 19, 1932 of cerebral hemorrhage, at the age of 57 years, 8 months, and 16 days.

Augusta Amelia Sand was born at Malmbeck Sweden, April 8, 1875, and while a girl was confirmed in the Lutheran Church, to which she remained faithful to the end. at the age of 18 years she left her home in Sweden and came to the United States arriving in Chicago, Ill. in the summer of 1893.

On February 8, 1898, she was united in marriage to August A. Anderson of Chicago to which union three daughters, Esther, Hilda, and Violet, were born. In 1900 she and her husband moved from Chicago to Mapleton, Iowa, and started farming near that place. In 1908 they moved to Union County S. D. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband; three daughters Mrs. John Schneiderheinze Mrs. J. M. Johnson, and Miss Violet Anderson; two grandchildren, John Hilder and Eldon Johnson all of Union County; three brothers Oscar Sand of Chicago; Gustav Sand, of Muskegoh, Mich. and John Sand, of Milwaukee, Wis.; four sisters Mrs. Alfred Swanson, of Union County; Mrs. Fred Hisler, of Beresford S. D.; Mrs. A. J. Brand of Wausau, Wis., and Mrs. Tony Earnest, of Le Mars Iowa. In the loss of this kind and devoted wife and mother the bereaved family have the sympathy of many friends and neighbors.

Funeral services were held in the family home last Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. D. J. Edward, pastor of Union Creek Lutheran Church. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery, Akron.

Among the relatives from a distance who came to attend the funeral were: Mrs. Adam J. Brand, of Wausau, Wis.; Oscar Sand of Chicago, and John Sand, Milwaukee, the latter a resident of this vicitnity a number of years ago.
