Her husband spells her maiden name Thompson. Her first name is Anna.

Mrs. H. P. Anderson passed away at the home of Mrs. Hendricks at Richland S. D. last Thursday, October 27 1921 at 11 p.m., aged 74 years due to the infirmities of advanced age. She was a pioneer resident of Akron and a familar figure to people here.

Mrs. Anderson's maiden name was Tomsen and she was born at Bergen, Norway, in September 1847. About the year 1863 she came with her mother to America first locating in Wisconsin. In 1872 she was united in marriage with H. P. Anderson and they at once made their home in Akron (then Portlandville), and Mr. anderson engaged in contracting and carpentering, building many of the first houses in this town. One child born to them died in infancy. Mr. Anderson died here in 1914.

Mrs. Anderson continued to live here until within the past year, and since that time she has been looked after by Mrs. Hendricks at Richland. she has no near relatives, except two cousins, who are said to be in the ministry somewhere in Minnesota. Although a trifle peculiar in her ways, Mrs. Anderson was kind of heart and had many friends here.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. V. A. Lindeblad in the local Immanuel Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, and there was a large attendance. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery beside her late husband.
