DANIEL R. JIMENEZ

MIAMI, Fla. – Daniel R. Jimenez, 76, of Miami, Fla., died Tuesday, July 2, 2002, after a brief illness.

Daniel Rene Jimenez was born Nov. 3, 1925, in the Republic of Panama and attended Westmar College, where he met and married Lois Locer Seipp of LeMars. A graduate of Iowa State University, he also completed graduate work at the University of Oklahoma. As a professional civil engineer, he traveled extensively and supervised numerous construction projects throughout the world until he retired in Miami.

He is survived by his wife, Margarita, and daughter, Alexandra, of Miami, Fla.; a son, Dr. Daniel Jimenez and his wife, Judy, of Tampa, Fla., daughter, Rebecca Stovall and her husband, Thomas, of Leavenworth, Kan., daughter, Claudia Jarecki-Dugan and husband, Terrence Dugan, of Mansfield, Texas, and a step-daughter, Judith De Boer of LeMars. Grandchildren include Steven De Boer; Erica, Timothy, Emily and Anthony Jimenez; Jami Niehus; and John Michael Jarecki.

He was preceded in death by a son Michael Stephen Jimenez; a daughter-in-law Barbara Lackore Jimenez and a son-in-law, John T. Jarecki, Jr.

Private services were held July 5, at Maspons Funeral Home in Miami. Graveside interment arrangements are pending at Plymouth Presbyterian Church in rural LeMars.
