Donald G. Koch
Donald G. Koch, 60, of rural Akron, Iowa, died in a tractor accident at his farm, Friday, May 12, 1989.
Mr. Koch was born October 4, 1928, near Akron, Iowa, to Herman and Neva Elsie (Williams) Koch. He married Charlotte Fullerton March 21, 1951, in Carthage, Mo. He did his Army basic training in Indiantown, Pa., and served 14 months in Korea. He graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor of science degree in animal science in 1951. He started farming in 1953. He was a 4-H leader for 30 years.
He was a member of Plymouth Presbyterian Church, where he had been an elder and a trustee for many years.
Survivors are his wife, Charlotte; five sons, Donald Jr. of Akron, Robert of Booneville, Mo., and David, Dennis, and Richard, all of Minneapolis; a sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Ruth) Wales of Akron; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Carolyn; a son, Douglas; and two sisters, Neva Lois and Juanita.
A memorial has been established in his name for Hope Haven in Rock Valley.
