Note: Her mother's maiden name was Pendleton. Bessie had a first husband by the name of Alfred William Riiff, and her third husband was Marvin Robinson.
Mrs. Bessie Robinson
Mrs. Bessie I. Robinson, 63, 1900 W. 19th St., Sioux City, was found dead at her home Wednesday morning, July 3, 1974.
Dr. Thomas L. Coriden, Woodbury County medical examiner, said that Mrs. Robinson has suffed a heart attack. She was found on the floor by a friend who had come to call.
Mrs. Robinson, he former Bessie I. Smith, was born Oct. 31, 1910, at Akron. She moved to Le Mars at the age of 21. She was married to Nels O. Sorenson in Le Mars in 1932, and after their marriage, the couple moved to Sioux City.
She worked for the Johnson Biscuit Company and the former T. S. Martin department store. She was member of Whitfield United Methodist Church.
Survivors are a son, Gerold D. sorensen of Midloahian, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. James (Marlys) Thorton of Friendswood, Tes., and Mrs. Roy (Sharon) Shoecraft of Pleasant Hill Calif.; two stepsons, Terry Robinson of Oxnard, Calif., and Charles Robinson of ames, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Kay Powers of Tinley Park, Ill,; two brothers, Leslie Smith of Le Mars, and Gay Smith of Akron, one grand-child and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 1 p.m Saturday at the W. Harry Christy Funeral Home, 711 Myrtle S.
Rev. Wallace Al. Stark, pastor of Whitfield United methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Akron.
Pallbearers will be Robert Dreeszen, Art Talbott, Virgil Ruhland, John Smith, Virgil Smith, and Robert Smith.
