FINAL SUMMONS COMES TO PIONEER PLYMOUTH COUNTY

Joseph H. Smith Resided in This County Since His Boyhood Days

Funeral services for Joseph Henry Smith, resident of Plymouth County for many years, who died Tuesday, was held this (Thursday) afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the family home at Westfield, and at 2:30 o'clock in the Akron M. E. Church, conducted by Rev. Wilson Gow, of Akron, and Rev. F. E. Burges, of Le Mars. Interment was in the Riverside Cemtery.

Mr. Smith was born in Uxbridge, Ontario, Canada, September 27, 1870, and came to PLymouth County with his parents, who were pioneer settlers. He was a resident of Plymouth County most of his life, farming south of Akron until the last fifteen years, when he resided in Le Mars. He was married to Harriet Julia Pendleton, of Akron, on November 28, 1894. Mr. Smith was a member of the Methodist Church in Akron.

He is survived by his widow: two sons, James, of Kinglsey, Ia., and Ira Faye, of Westfield, Ia.; one daughter, Mrs. Bessie Izetta Riif, of Sioux City, Ia.; two brothers, John W., of Lucas, S. D., and Frank, of Akron, And three sister, Mrs. Ada Norton, of Sioux City, Ia.; Mrs. Zella Buryanek, of Lucas, S. D, and Mrs. Nettie Cane, of Hubbard, Nebr. He is also survived by four grandchildren.

The relatives have the sincere sympathy of many friends in this bereavement.
