Mrs. Harry Hartman, 76, Alcester, died Wednesday (Nov. 7, 1979) in a Sioux Falls hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Peace Lutheran Church at Alcester. Rev. Neal Ahart will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery under direction of the Wass Funeral Home of Alcester.
Mrs. Hartman, the former Anna Beckman, was born Dec. 21, 1902, in Plymouth Count near Akron. She was married Feb. 23, 1922, at Akron. The couple farmed in the Akron and Alcester areas until Mr. Hartman's death in 1954. In 1967, she moved into Alcester where she owned and operated the Corner cafe for many years.
Survivors are three sons, Marvin of Schuyler, Neb., and Norman and Edward, both of Alcester; six daughters, Mrs. arthur (Fern) Peterson, Mrs. Francis (Florence) Green, Mrs. Charles (Lillian) Hall, Mrs. Melvin (Mary Jean) Rogness and Mrs. Robert (Hester) Berg, all of Alcester, and Mrs. Daryle (Shirley) McVay of Beresford; a brother, Fred of Kingman, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Pollock of Akron and Mrs. Dena Calhoun of Custer; 29 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
