Oliver B. Dobbert

Oliver Benjamin Dobbert, 86, Cedar Falls, a Plymouth county native, died Saturday (May 19, 1979) at Western Home care center where he had lived since 1971.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Calvary United Methodist church, Le Mars, with Rev. H.O. Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Le Mars Memorial cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home in Le Mars.

Mr. Dobbert, a retired farmer, was born Dec. 6, 1892, in Stanton township to John W. and Ella Uthe Dobbert. He lived there until moving to Le Mars in 1923.

Mr. Dobbert attended Western Union (now Westmar) colege and joined the Stanton township Evangelical United Brethern church as a youth. He later transferred to Calvary United Methodist.

He was a veteran of World War I, member of Wasmer post, American Legion, and the Last Man's Club. He was a member of B. P. O. Elks Lodge.

Survivors are his two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Estella) W. Peterson, Elk Point and Mrs. T. A. (Mabel) Strid, Green Bay, Wis., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
