CARPENTER--At the home of her daughter. Mrs. C. A. Tyler, on Clark Street, at 9 o'clock Wednesday evening, of heart failure, Mrs. Susan P. Carpenter, aged 64 years.

Mrs. Carpenter was a lady universally beloved by all who knew her. She was living with her daughter, Mrs. Tyler.

The death was sudden and unexpected. Mrs. Carpenter and Mrs. Tyler started to the Congregational church to the evening service, but after going about a block Mrs. Carpenter expressed a desire to go back as she was not feeling well. She insisted that MRs. Tyler go on to the church and returned home. A few minutes later her son's wife, Mrs. M. A. Carpenter, came in, and she thought she would go to the lecture at the M. E. Chruch which was but a few blocks away. The arrived at the door, but again the lady felt ill and again insisted upon going home alone, but Mrs. Carpenter Jr. would not permit it. Her son, M. A. Carpenter, was summoned from the store, and Mrs. Tyler from the church, but nothing could save her and in less than an hour she died.

The funeral exercises will take place this afternoon. Rev. J. E. Snowden, her pastor, will officiate. Prayers will be said at the house at 2 o'clock and the survivors will take place at the church at 2:30, after which corpse will be interred at the city cemetery.
