Anna C. Kroepel

Mrs. Otto (Anna C.) Kroepel, 87, Ireton, a Plymouth county native and lifelong resident, died Monday (Oct. 23, 1989) at Sioux City St. Luke's Regional Medical Center.

Funeral was Thursday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran church, rural Akron, with Rev. Stephany Sanborn officiant. Burial was in the church cemetery in Preston township.

The former Anna Frerichs was born Aug. 30, 1902, in Prestion township to Claus Carl and Gesche Harms Frerichs. She married Otto Kroepel Nov. 25, 1925, in Preston township. Mr. Kroepel died Feb. 19, 1981, at Hawarden.

Mrs. Kroepel was a lifelong member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran church at rural Akron.

Survivors are a son, Russell Kroepel and his wife, Margaret, Onawa; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Kroepel, Carlyle, Ill.; three sisters, Emma Frerichs, and Minnie Frerichs, both of Akron, and Hilda Schmidt of Hawarden; a grandson, Thomas J. Kroepel; and granddaughters, Katy Wojciehowski, Karen Hintz, Kim Rosol, Pam Johnson, Deb McClelland, Kristi Kroepel and Julie Kroepel; and many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Harvey Kroepel and alfred Kroepel; two grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters.
