Otto T. Kroepel

Funeral services for Otto Kroepel, 83, of Ireton, longtime area farmer, were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran church, Preston townsip, Rev. Jack Hebard officiated and burial was in the church cemetery under direction of the Luken-Johnson funeral home.

A memorial fund has been established for St. John's church in Preston township.

Mr. Kroepel was dead on arrival Feb. 19, 1981, at the Hawarden hospital.

Otto Theodore Kroepel was born Nov. 18, 1897, in Glasford, Ill., to Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Kroepel. He farmed in Preston township, Plymouth county. His marriage to Anna Frerichs took place Nov. 25, 1925, in Preston township.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Alfred who died July 11, 1979; two grandsons, two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors are his wife, Anna, Ireton; three sons, Melvin of Phoeniz, Ariz.; Russell of Shenandoah, and Rev. Harvey Kroepel of Centralia, Il.; two brothers, Henry of Peoria, Ill., and Albert of La Habra, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Ed (Bertha) Summers, Red Wing, Minn., and Mrs. Ray (Amelia) Clinebell, Elmwood, Ill. There are nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
