Alfred Kroepel
Alfred Kroepel, 51, Le Mars, died Wednesday (July 11, 1979) at University of Nebraska hospital, Omaha, after an extended illness. He was admitted to the hospital June 18.
Mr. Kroepel was born June 23, 1928, at Akron to Otto and Anna Frerichs Kroepel. He lived at rural Akron and moved to Le Mars in 1954.
He was employed at Lampert Yards in Le Mars.
Mr. Kroepel was a member of St. John's American Lutheran church in Le Mars. He served in the army from 1951 to 1953, and was a member of Heeren, McHale, Wilken post 724, American Legion, Burnsville.
His marriage to Wynola Haring took place Nov. 14, 1954, in Le Mars.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's American Lutheran church with Rev. William Streipe officiating. Burial was in Le Mars Memorial cemetery under direction of the Lucken-Johnson funeral home.
Survivors are his wife, Wynola, Le Mars; four daughters, Mrs. Steve (Bonnie) Shomaker, Terrill, Iowa; Debora, Pamela, and Kristi at home; his parents Mr. and Mrs. Otto Kroepel, rural Ireton; and three borthers, Melvin of Phoenix, Ariz.; Russell of Shenandoah and Rev. Harvey Kroepel, Peoria, Ill.
