MRS. HERMAN SCHWARZ BURIED AT GRANVILLE; WAS LE MARS NATIVE

Granville Special—Funeral services were held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Sheldon, Tuesday morning for Mrs. Herman Schwarz, 8, who died in the Sheldon hospital last Saturday following a stroke.

Minnie Van Bergen was born Jan. 20, 1878, at LeMars, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julius VanBergen, who later moved to a farm south of Alton before settling at Granville.

Feb. 13, 1901, she married to Herman Schwarz at St. Joseph church, Granville, and resided with his parents on the farm for a year before moving to Granville. He was employed at Granville elevator for years before they began farming north of Granville. The couple later moved to the present farm near Ashton.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, (Josepha) Mrs. Henry Jones and (Mildred) Mrs. Harry Schaa; two sons, Julius and Martin of Ashton; numerous grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Nell Penning of Granville.

She was preceded in death by one son, Edward; her parents, and two brothers, John and Frank VanBergen.

Burial was in the family lot at St. Joseph Cemetery, Granville.
