Edward P. Burnight
Edward P. Burnight, 89, Sunrise manor, died Saturday (June 4, 1983) at the nursing home after a long illness.
Services were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic in Sioux City. Burial was in St. Joseph cemetery in Akron under direction of the Berkemier funeral home in Sioux City. Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Monday evening.
Mr. Burnight was born Aug. 10, 1893, in Akron. He married Rose Ann Neill in 1913, in Portland, Ore. The couple lived in Akron where he was self employed as a carpenter. They moved to Sioux City in 1942 where he worked at the Sioux City Battery Co. until reitring in 1958. Mrs. Burnight died in Sioux City. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic church.
Survivors include five sons, Patrick and Richard, both of Sioux City, Burnell of Garden Grove, Calif., Leslie of Westfield and Ronald of Waterbury, Neb.; one daughter Mrs. Lloyd (Rose mary) Luther of Bronson; 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
