Clara Belle Gardner dies at age of 90; rites set Friday
Mrs. Clara Belle Gardner, 90, of Sixth Ave. NE, died Wednesday morning ait Brentwood Convalescent home after a lingering illness.
She was born March 23, 1877, at Deland, Ill., and had lived for many years in the Merrill and LeMars vicinity.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Luken-Johnson funeral home, with Rev. Marion Bloodworm of the Merrill First Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery, Merrill, under direction of the Luken-Johnson funeral home.
Mrs. Gardner was a member of the American Legion auxiliary of Merrill.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Clara) Mattas of Merrill; four brothers, Clint Stephenson of Tallahassee, Fla., Oren, Edward and Perry Delong, all of Bradley, S.D., and a sister, Mrs. Alva Scott, Los Angeles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Gardner and two sons.
