Funeral of Mrs. L. J . Walker

The funeral of Mrs. L. J. Walker, news of whose death was announced in the last issue of this paper, was held on Wednesday at the First Presbyterian church in this city, Rev. W. G. Moore officiating, and was very largely attended. The Royal Neighbors, of which organization the deceased was a member, had charge of the obsequies

Mrs. Walker was thirty-six years of age at the time of her death, having been born on December 18, 1873, at Mobile, Alabama. When a child her parents moved to Denison, Iowa, where she received her early training and education.

She was united in marriage on December 28, 1893, at Manilla, Iowa, with L. J. Walker, who with an only son, Clifford, mourns the loss of a loving wife and mother. Since their marriage they have lived in Akron and LeMars, coming here fifteen years ago.

Three sisters, Mrs. James Hoar, of Bronson, Mrs. W. D. Elliott and Miss Carol Paton, of Sioux City, attended the funeral. Her aged mother, Mrs. Sarah Paton, who lives at Bronson, was unable to attend the funeral on account of feeble health.

Mrs Walker suffered from consumption for several years and tried change of climate, going west for a time and consulted many doctors, but without avail. She suffered much but never complained and was up and around until last Sunday. She was a devoted wife and mother and a loyal friend and her death is deeply regretted by many friends who had come to know and love her. The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved family in their great bereavement.
