Funeral rites held for longtime resident, Mrs. Lyda Walker
Casket bearers for Mrs. Lyda Walker, 85. Saturday were Vernon Single. Willis Tullis. Paul Gaumrutz, Harvey Herman, Albert Husman and Clarence Carstensen.
Mrs. Walker is survived by one son. Louis Walker of Sterling, Ill.: four grandchildren. Karen and.Jerrid Walker of Sterling, Ill.., and Patricia and Richard Lennen of Vermillion; a stepson. Clifford Walker of Blunt. S.D., and a cousin, Jules Forester of Broadlawn Manor in Kingsley.
Mrs. Walker was a member of the Methodist W.S.C.S. and the Merrill Tuesday club.
She was the daughter of a former Merrill mayor, James Harker, a longtime resident here and for many years was Merrill telephone operator.
Coming from a distance for the funeral services conducted by Rev. Marion Bloodworth were Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Walker of Sterling, Ill., Dan Lennon and children, Patricia and
Richard of Vermillion, Clifford Walker and Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Walker of Huron, S.D.Also Mrs. Inize Harker of Sioux City and Jules Forester of Kingsley.
Singers were Mrs. Marian Miller and Mrs. Ruth Kelrberg.
