Lewis Walker

Lewis J. Walker, 83, a retired station agent for the Chicago-and North Western railroad, died Monday after a one-year sickness.

He was born July 23, 1872, at Sioux City. Mr. Walker married Lyda Miller, June 28, 1910, at Hawarden. He was employed by the railroad at several Iowa and South Dakota towns, the last being Hurley, South Dakota, before retiring at Merrill in 1952.

Survivors include the widow, two sons, Lewis J. of Mobcrly, Missouri, and Clifford of Carthage. South Dakota; one daughter, Mrs. Daniel Lennon of Vermillion. South Dakota; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 2 p. m. Wednesday at the First Methodist church in Merrill. Rev. Donald Harbour officiated, and burial was in the LeMars city cemetery under direction of the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home.
