Former Resident Passes Away
David Blair Once Lived In HenryDavid H. Blair, who lived in Henry township, Plymouth county, many years, died Tuesday (March 27, 1945) at his home in Sioux City where he had lived for almost thirty years. While in this county, he was active in public affairs and had a wide acquaintance throughout the county.
Mr. Blair was born in Londonderry county, Ireland, 79 years ago and came to America at the age of 20 years and farmed in Henry township, north of Kingsley, until his retirement.
He married Annie Milton in Le Mars, May 11, 1892. They observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1942.
Mr. Blair was a member of the First Presbyterian church, Cosmos Lodge 470, A.F. & A.M., and Sioux City Consistory 5.
Surviving are the widow; two sons, Milton of Sioux City and Cpl. Midral L. Blair, with the First army in Germany; four daughters, Mrs. Rose Jacobson, Mrs. Ithe B. Doran and Mrs. Davina M. Chase, all of Sioux City, and Mrs. Lillian Ruhd of Brandt, S. D.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p. m., Revs. Theodore Lilley and Joseph Steele officiating, and burial was in the Union township cemetery near his farm home.
