TWO LOCAL PEOPLE ARE SUMMONED
Last Bites for Bert Parker and John Eltjes Are Held This WeekBert Parker passed away at his home in Akron, Sunday evening, April 2, 1939, after a long period of illness, at the age of 39 years and 7 days.
Bert Parker, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Parker, was born in Westfield, Iowa, March 26, 1900. He spent most of his life in Akron, working on farms in this vicinity for a number of years. He was a young man of good character and. industrious habits. Left to mourn his departure are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Parker, of Akron; a sister, Mrs. Ed. Thorp, of Akron; a brother, Bernard Parker, of Clearwater, Calif., and many other relatives. An infant brother, Charlie Ray, preceded him in death in 1906. The relatives have the sympathy of many friends in their bereavement.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:45 from the home and in the Akron M. E. church at 3:00 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. F. Moore. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
