Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Helmrichs, 50, who died Tuesday at the hospital at Akron, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John American Lutheran church in Preston township. Rev. Henry A. Dirks will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of the Mauer funeral home of Le Mars.

Mrs. Helmrichs, who was a lifelong resident of Plymouth county and of Preston township, was born September 22, 1905. She was married to John Helmrichs, and they lived on a farm near Akron at the time of her death. She had been ill eight weeks.

Survivors include the widower; a daughter, Judy; a sister, Mrs. H. R. Frerichs of Akron; three brothers, Fred Erks of Hawarden and John and William Erks, both of AKron, and the Mrs. Helen Erks of Le Mars.

LAST RITES FOR MRS. J. HELMRICHS HELD SATURDAY
Was a resident Of Preston Township All Of Her Life

Mrs. John Helmrichs, a life-long resident of northwest Plymouth county, passed away at Akron Community Hospital Tuesday, May 29, 1956, at the age of 50 years, 8 month, and days.

Margaretha Kathrina Maria Erks, daughter of Rudolph and Helen Erks, was born September 21, 1905, in Preston township. On March 16, 1938, she was united in marriage with John Helmrichs and they have since resided on the home place. Their union was blessed with one daughter, Judy Jean.

On January 5, 1953, Mrs. Helmrichs suffered a bad fall, which was the beginning of a number of afflictions that caused her much bodily and mental anguish for mucfh of the remainder of her life. She was taken to Akron Community Hospital on Manday, May 28, where she passed away in the evening of the following day.

Mrs. Helmrichs had been a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran church, Preston township, all her life, being baptized there in infancy and confirmed at the age of 14.

Left to mourn her departure are her husband; one daughter, Judy Jean; her aged mother, Mrs. Helen Erks, of Le Mars; one sister Mrs. Henry Frerichs, of Akron; three brothers, Fred ERks, of Hawarden; John and William Erks, of Akron; other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in St. John's Lutheran church, Preston township, Rev. Henry Dirks, the pastor, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
