EARLY SETTLER PASSES AWAY
MRS. SAMUEL MANN LIVED IN PLYMOUTH COUNTY SIXTY-TWO YEARS

Funeral services were held November 24 for Mrs. Samuel Mann, pioneer resident of Plymouth county at the Congregational church in Kingsley, Rev. P. H. Vehe, pastor, officiating and interment made in the family burying ground in Kingsley cemetery.

Clara Ann Layton was born in England May 13, 1852, and in 1861 came with her father to America. He located near Madison, Wis., where he lived for ten years and then came to Plymouth county where he homesteaded a piece of land northwest of Kingsley. She was united in marriage with Samuel Mann October 7, 1877, at the homestead.

Mr. Mann died in 1900 and his wife later moved to Kingsley to live.

Mrs. Mann was badly hurt in a fall from the porch at her home in August, 1928, striking her head and injuring, the optic nerves and was rendered blind and helpless.

She leaves three daughters, Miss Mary Mann, Mrs. Lizzie Bear, Mrs. Myrtle Wooley, eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
